NATURAL STONE VARIATION

It is important to note that DLCo Interiors stone pieces are crafted using natural stone by human hands. Natural stone is an organic material with variations in color tone, veining, spotting, and fissures. These characteristics are not flaws but part of what makes each piece unique. No two slabs or blocks are exactly alike. Fissures and pits are not to be considered defects as they are part of the stone.

All of our stone is sourced from nature and, as such, each piece carries its own unique variations in color, veining, and texture. These distinctions are inherent to natural materials and evolve as quarries are mined deeper into the mountain. For custom works carved from solid blocks—such as our furnishings, sinks, decor, and sculptural forms—the inner character of the stone is revealed through the hands of our artisans as they cut, chisel, and polish each surface into form. As each stone reveals its character through the fabrication process, these nuances cannot be fully anticipated in advance.

Natural stone inherently varies in veining, movement, and background tone from block to block. Subtle fissures and pitting are characteristic of the material’s organic formation and are not considered imperfections. Should a fissure or pit be revealed during fabrication, an epoxy fill or similar refinement may be applied at the discretion of our artisans to preserve the integrity and beauty of the piece.

Stone swatches, images, and/or stone samples are to serve as reference ONLY and are not binding. Each stone block and its subsequent slabs will vary. Please inquire if you have additional questions on variance by stone type.

DRAWINGS & APPROVAL

For Custom & Bespoke Projects: All technical drawings are created based on our interpretation of the client’s provided sketches or specifications. DLCo Interiors cannot assume responsibility for errors or omissions resulting from these drawings once approved. We strongly advise reviewing all dimensions and design details carefully prior to confirming the work order. Dimensions cannot be altered or changed once the customer approved documentation.

By proceeding with a fabrication piece, customer is accepting these conditions.

FINISH & DIMENSION TOLERANCE

Natural stone may exhibit minor variations in scale, thickness, and finish. Industry-standard tolerances are observed. We advise coordinating with your installer to confirm precise dimensions before installation.

Slight dimensional variations may occur, as our artisans exercise discretion when carving around natural characteristics within the stone to achieve the most refined visual result. All listed dimensions are nominal and subject to adjustment during production. Reasonable deviations in size are considered standard, with an average tolerance of ±¼”–⅜”.

SEALING AND MAINTENANCE

As with all natural stone, sealing and ongoing maintenance are essential to preserve its beauty. Neglect or improper care may cause staining or surface etching. DLCo Interiors cannot be held responsible for damage arising from misuse or insufficient maintenance.

For full instructions on maintaining natural stone, please visit our
Stone Material Guide.

PRODUCTION LEAD TIME

Please read the full product listing description for lead-time estimates and Important Details. Varies per product.

Please inquire for current producion lead-time at the time of order, as it will vary by month based on our production scheduling.

Current production lead times change based on volume of orders, availability of stone material, design, and size. May be subject to change and are not binding. Quoted time at time of purchase contingent upon size, design, stone, and what needs to be quarried.

Timeline is not fixed and subject to varying factors. Please continue to communicate with DLCo Interiors to inquire of production status and any projected delays. Any important dates for install should be communicated to DLCo Interiors upon order placement.

UNDERSTANDING + AGREEMENT

By placing an order with DLCo Interiors, you are in agreement that you have read, understand, and agree to DLCo Interiors' Shop Policies/Terms & Conditions.

TILE & SINKS

In addition to the above -- For best results, we suggest ordering a minimum of 20% overage for tile purchase orders to account for on-site cuts, waste, and future maintenance needs. Due to the unique nature of stone, DLCo Interiors cannot guarantee identical material availability from the same lot or quarry over time.

We highly recommend that all products be installed by a licensed professional experienced in working with natural stone. Improper installation may result in damage or product failure and is not covered.

Installation constitutes acceptance of the material in its grade, color, finish, and overall suitability. This standard aligns with accepted practices across the tile and construction industries.

We strongly recommend inspecting all materials prior to installation and addressing any concerns before work begins. DLCo Interiors cannot be held responsible for issues identified after installation, and installed materials are not eligible for replacement, repair, or compensation.

For any material-related questions, please first consult with your licensed stone installer. Should concerns remain, our studio is available for additional support. Variations in color, texture, veining, size, and finish are inherent to natural stone and are to be expected.

If visible concerns arise prior to installation, do not proceed until resolved. Because every project is unique, installation methods must be confirmed with a qualified natural stone professional who can specify the exact requirements for your space. For industry best practices, refer to the most current edition of the TCNA Handbook for Ceramic, Glass, and Stone Tile Installation.

We recommend ordering at least 20% additional material to allow for cuts, breakage, and future repairs. Installation should not begin until all materials have arrived and been inspected on site.

Prior to setting, dry lay all tiles
and draw from multiple boxes to achieve a balanced, cohesive color blend. Natural stone varies from piece to piece; it is the installer’s responsibility to review the layout with the client for approval before installation begins. This is considered standard practice and ensures the most beautiful, harmonious result.

Use only white thin-set mortar and un-sanded grout. Ensure at least 95% thin-set coverage on the back of each tile for a strong, lasting bond. Wipe the backs of tiles before installation to remove dust and promote proper adhesion.

Tiles with visible imperfections should be set aside and used for cuts; exposed cut edges may be lightly sanded for a smooth finish.

Recently installed stone may appear darker due to moisture from thin-set mortar. This is temporary and will typically lighten as the material cures—allow up to 30 days, depending on climate conditions.

Some natural stones are reinforced with a resin or mesh backing during processing to ensure stability during transport and installation. These resins may include polyester, urethane, or epoxy compounds. The backing does not need to be removed. For resin-backed stone, we recommend using a poly-modified thin-set, epoxy, or latex additive for optimal adhesion.

For additional details, please refer to our Installation Guidelines.

CANDLE SAFETY | CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Trim Wick to approximately 1/4” before each use.

Trimming the wick to 1/4 inch will prevent a tall flame and unwanted smoking. When trimming, use a wick trimmer to ensure trimmings do not fall into the wax. Very important to ensure no debris fall into the wax. We highly recommend a candle snuffer for extinguishing your candle. Place burning candles at least 3 inches apart from one another. A burning candle should not be used as a nightlight.

Do not burn for more than 3-4 hours at a time.

Remove candle from all packaging prior to burning. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish all candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep. Burn within sight and keep away from flammable objects, children & pets. Only burn your candle on a level, fire-resistant surface. If you experience any soot, extinguish the flame right away, trim wick, and relight. Follow the 2 ft rule - don't place a burning candle near clothing, books, curtains or anything flammable. Keep lit candles away from drafts, ceiling fans and any air currents.

Create a full melt pool on first burn.

For the first burn session, it is best to burn the candle until the wax is completely melted across the surface and reached the edges of the vessel. This enables the candle to burn evenly and prevents tunneling. Don’t burn a candle all the way down. For a margin of safety, discontinue burning a candle when 1/2 inch of wax remains in the container. The glass can get overheated without the presence of wax and the glass can break.

Keep wick centered in the vessel.

Always keep the wick centered for even heat distribution. Extinguish a candle if the flame gets too close to the candle holder or container. If you notice the wick becoming off center, after extinguishing the flame and while the wax is still warm, simple using the back of a metal spoon to nudge the wick back to the center of the vessel.
